To ensure that quality Alaska Yellow Cedar stands and products remain available for generations to come, we take our stewardship mission very seriously.

Alaska Yellow Cedar's fine grain, strong fiber and various resistances result from its slow rate of growth. However, slow growth also means forest regeneration requires more time. Thus in our business, responsible timber harvesting methods are especially important.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certifies responsibly harvested wood. As an FSC Chain of Custody participant, Cypress International processes logs harvested by hellicopter or partial clearing whenever possible. FSC certified Alaska Yellow Cedar is still a fraction of the domestic market, but we are convinced that a stable product supply and promotion of the FSC program will change this.
